Trying to balance on the Net
I accepted Christ when I was 8 years old during Bible School. Then I followed Christ to the fullest, but as I grew into my teenage years, no one encouraged me in my walk, as my parents left the church. I fell into the ways of the sin. When I joined the Air Force, I decided I could read the Bible and come to terms with God by myself. I ended up spending my time balancing two masters. As it was i was playing volleyball from a top the net. Trying to balance on top of the net trying to score for God but for the most giving Satan the ball. I hated all the rules that God placed on me and loved the sin I was playing with. Then one night I heard about a coffee house being held on base with live music. When I got there I found out it was Christian group, I tried to lay low, but several in the group noticed what I was doing. They approached me and talked to me about Jesus. They invited me to church and I reluctantly agreed to go. To this day I do not remember what was preached, but I do recall feelings that compelled me to get right with the Lord, which I did. I tried to keep both masters, God being the senior but I soon learned that God is a jealous God. I then got stationed T Osan Korea. While there God sent me to a Christian retreat. He used the recreation time to speak into my soul about why he was jealous God, that he wanted the best for me not second best. I went on a hike on a mountain called North Korea Mountain so named because from the peak you can look into N. Korea. During the decent down I lost my footing and fell about 120 feet. Those that saw me fall swear I should have died. All I got was a concussion, and a message from God that I was to be totally committed to him, which I have been since. God has rewarded me with a wife and two lovely children. I wish all that read this are encouraged to choose to serve God fully because he want the best for you. The World may seem pleasurably today but in a week, month, or a year you will regret playing with the it when you come to see the blessings that God had for you. There is a popular bumper sticker that say's "God is my Copilot". How wrong is that message? Turn the stick or wheel over to the Lord he knows the destination better than we do.
